The excavator arrived back onsite this afternoon!

They made short work of the front portion of the cut, it's now down to the level of the trench.

Here's another angle. It's quite deep at the tallest section.

I tried to use the timer with the phone to take a photo with me standing by the cut for scale, but couldn't find anywhere convenient to sit the phone - here it's resting on the tracks of the excavator.
This is looking out over the Wannon Water Hatchery shed from floor level.
